BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - Burundi's presidential election has been postponed to July 21 from July 15, a presidential spokesman said on Saturday, after African leaders urged a delay to try to halt worsening violence in a nation that emerged from civil war only a decade ago.

KAMPALA (Reuters) - A Burundi general who was part of a failed coup attempt in May said his group was still working to oust President Pierre Nkurunziza, accusing him of stoking ethnic divisions in a country still trying to recover from civil war.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - United Nations peacekeeping chief Herve Ladsous pushed the U.N. Security Council on Wednesday to impose an arms embargo on South Sudan and to blacklist more rival leaders in the war-torn country, where he sees little prospect of a political solution.

DAR ES SALAAM (Reuters) - A Burundian general who backed a failed coup in May threatened that he and others would launch an armed resistance after President Pierre Nkurunziza refused to bow to opposition and international demands to abandon a bid for a third term.
