BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - Burundi's Roman Catholic Church, representing more than two thirds of the population in the central African nation, said on Saturday the incumbent president should not stand for a third term in the June elections.

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday expressed deep disappointment after troubled talks to end more than a year of bloodshed in South Sudan broke off without a deal a day earlier.

ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) - Troubled talks to end more than a year of fighting in South Sudan broke up without a deal on Friday, prompting the mediator to say leaders on both sides were failing in their duty to find peace.

South Sudan peace talks to go on until Friday

ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) - Peace talks between South Sudan's government and rebels will extend beyond a Thursday deadline set by mediators to allow them to finalize details on power sharing, mediators from the regional East African group IGAD said.
