SAN YSIDRO PORT OF ENTRY (Reuters) - Hopes rose on Tuesday among a caravan of migrants who traveled from Central America to seek asylum in the United States after U.S. border authorities allowed the first small group of women and children entry from Mexico overnight.

SEOUL (Reuters) - North and South Korea made ambitious promises for peace on Friday, including to formally end the Korean War this year, but made only a vague commitment to "complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula" without specifics on how that key goal would be achieved.

KABUL (Reuters) - Explosions in the Afghan capital Kabul killed at least 26 people on Monday, including nine journalists who had arrived to report on an initial blast and were apparently targeted by a suicide bomber, officials said.
