KHARTOUM (Reuters) - Sudan's opposition Congress Party will boycott next year's elections because the restrictive political climate does not allow for fair polls, its leader Ibrahim al-Sheikh said on Sunday, further undermining the credibility of the vote.

KHARTOUM (Reuters) - Sudan's ruling party chose President Omar Hassan al-Bashiron Tuesday as its candidate for next year's presidential vote, making it almost certain that he will not step aside but extend his rule after 25 years in power.

KHARTOUM (Reuters) - One of Sudan's main opposition parties will boycott elections set for April because a lack of democracy will not allow a fair vote, a senior party official said on Monday, diminishing the credibility of the ballot.
