GENEVA (Reuters) - The head of the U.N. human rights agency said on Friday that Congolese security forces had killed at least 40 people and arrested 460 in protests against President Joseph Kabila this week.

KINSHASA (Reuters) - Security forces in Democratic Republic of Congo killed at least 34 people during protests this week against President Joseph Kabila's refusal to step down at the end of his mandate, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said on Thursday.

KINSHASA (Reuters) - Suspected Ugandan rebels used machetes to kill at least 12 civilians on Monday in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, authorities and a local human rights group said, the latest in a series of targeted attacks over the last 18 months.
