TRIPOLI (Reuters) - More than 90 migrants are believed missing after their boat sank off the coast of western Libya on Wednesday, a coastguard spokesman said.

CATANIA, Italy (Reuters) - Some 729 migrants rescued from boats in the Mediterranean were taken to port in Sicily's Catania on Wednesday, along with the bodies of nine others killed trying to reach Italy.

BERLIN (Reuters) - A German-based humanitarian group said on Tuesday up to 30 African migrants may have died because of what it called "aggressive" Libyan interference in a rescue operation outside Libyan territorial waters.

ROME (Reuters) - About 2,200 migrants were plucked to safety in the central Mediterranean in 21 rescue missions on Monday and 16 bodies were recovered, the Italian Coast Guard said.
