BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - Burundi's parliament sat for the first time on Monday after President Pierre Nkurunziza won a disputed election last week, with a leading opposition figure taking his seat despite having boycotted the vote.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry called Burundi's election this week "deeply flawed" and urged President Pierre Nkurunziza to hold a "meaningful, serious" dialogue with the African country's opposition, the State Department said.

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union is ready to impose sanctions on Burundians failing to help end the East African nation's crisis, the EU's foreign policy chief said on Thursday, following elections that Brussels and Washington say were not credible.

BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - The United States will review its relations and level of aid to Burundi over the next two months after the East African nation held elections that Washington says were not credible, the U.S. ambassador said on Thursday.
