BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - Burundi's president would not oppose forming a national unity government after an election boycotted by the opposition but if he wins a third term would not cut it short, a presidential official said on Wednesday.

BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - Burundi's leading opposition politician called on President Pierre Nkurunziza to hold talks with rivals and form a national unity government after this week's election, saying it could help avert a new conflict in the poor African nation.

LONDON (Reuters) - Tanzanian refugee camps and relief workers, struggling to help tens of thousands of Burundian refugees, fear a new wave may pour across the border because of the violence that hit Burundi's presidential election on Tuesday, aid agencies said.

BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - A policeman and an opposition member died in clashes marring the start of Burundi's presidential elections, already hit by opposition boycotts and protests over President Pierre Nkurunziza's decision to run for a third term.

BUJUMBURA (Reuters) - Peace talks to resolve Burundi's violent political crisis ahead of polls next week were suspended on Sunday after the government side failed to show up, the mediator said.
